About the training we provide

We want you to get as much out of volunteering as you can – and to really enjoy it. We value the time and commitment that you put into your volunteering role and want to support you with quality training.

Essential training modules

Before you start volunteering with us, you’ll need to complete a few basic training modules which are available on our website.

Every volunteer must read the volunteers' handbook as well as read through the core and the role specific training relevant to their volunteering role.

If you have a question, you'll find a huge library of information at your fingertips in our FAQs. If you still can't find what you need then, please contact our friendly team by emailing knowledge@reengage.org.uk or by calling 020 7240 0630.

Additional resources

As a Re-engage volunteer, we’ll need to keep your name, contact details and your referee details on our files. We’ll only use this information in relation to your volunteering role and to keep you up to date with the charity’s news and developments. We’ll never pass your details to another organisation. If your contact details change, please do let us know as soon as you can so we always know where to reach you.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you’re entitled to see the information we have about you at any time.

Re-engage will not unlawfully discriminate because of the Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. As a volunteer, you can expect to be treated in line with this policy and we expect all our volunteers to adhere to it.

Your volunteering role should never involve giving advice to an older person. If the older person you’re speaking to does have a specific issue they need help with, you’ll find organisations that may be able to help on our signposting page.

Keeping in contact with us

Every Re-engage volunteer will receive a copy of our monthly e-newsletter once they have started volunteering – please stay subscribed for interesting news and insights, as well as important information relevant to your voluntary role.

Our website contains a wealth of information about our work, mission, and values, and we highly recommend taking the time to have a read:

We love to hear good news and stories from our Re-engage volunteers and older people. We sometimes send them to the press to increase awareness of the charity or share them in our newsletter or on our website or social media channels. If you have a story you’d like to tell us, please send it to comms@reengage.org.uk. We can't promise it will be published, but we’ll certainly enjoy reading it.

We do know that sometimes things go wrong. If an issue comes up related to your role, please talk it through with your coordinator in the first instance. After this, if you still feel it’s unresolved, you can register a complaint using the following link:
