Everyone should have the chance to make new friends.

Our group and one-to-one activities will help you expand your social circle in a friendly, safe environment.

Tea parties

Our tea parties are free monthly social groups open to people aged 75 and over. They’re a chance for a change of scenery and regular afternoons of conversation and laughter with friends of all ages.

You’ll even be taken there and home again so don’t need to worry about organising travel.

Activity groups

Activity groups are free monthly groups open to people aged 75 and over who are lonely, isolated and in need of companionship. Taking part in the groups is a great way to stay active and to make new friends.

Every activity group has a group coordinator who’s responsible for organising the group and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Anyone who attends an activity group can be picked up and dropped home again so there’s no need to worry about organising travel.

Activity groups are designed to get you moving and will include gentle exercise, activities and sports that are suitable for people of all abilities.

We have activity groups in Bristol and the South West, Greater Manchester, London, the Scottish Borders, Wales, West Midlands and West Yorkshire.

Crosby lunch club and flicks and friends

From 1 January 2022, Age Concern Crosby became part of Re-engage and we’ve been looking after the lunch club and cinema club – flicks and friends ever since.

I feel very emotional as I only get to go out when I have a hospital appointment and you don’t get to talk properly to people there. This tea party has made me feel alive again, with such kindness shown.  I really can't wait until we do it again.

Dougie
Age 76

What a difference it's made to me, being part of a social group again. At first, I was a bit nervous about going but everyone's so friendly and it’s great to have conversations with different people.

I'm not nearly so lonely now. I really love the company. If I had the chance, I would go every day.
