This December, many of us will enjoy time together with family and friends. But the festive period can be really difficult if you don’t have anyone to spend it with.
Christmas can be especially lonely and isolating for older people. With constant reminders of lost loved ones, and family gatherings of the past.
But a regular phone call can be life-changing. It can give an older person something to look forward to and something positive to focus on instead.
Through our range of free, regular social activity groups across the UK and our nationwide telephone befriending service, call companions, we aim to provide older people with a support network, letting them know they’re not alone.
Can you join us for this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge and help meet the ever-growing need for our services? If you donate online between 28 November and 5 December, your gift will be matched – making your generosity go twice as far!
Two incredible donors have pledged to match all donations up to a total of £40,000. Every gift doubled will get us closer to our target. With your help, even more older people will have someone to talk to over the festive period.
Be the first to hear when the Big Give Christmas Challenge goes live on 28 November. Sign up to receive emails and stay in the know about the different ways you can help to tackle loneliness in older people.
