Tips to help you make the most of the technology connecting you to your call companion.

The person you are calling is unavailable. Call back later - If you get this message, your call companion has their telephone switched off, or has no signal.

Calls to this number are being screened by BT Call Guardian. Please say your name after the tone, then press # and wait to be connected - Your call companion has call screening enabled. Please ask them to save our telephone number 0300 373 1730 in their telephone contact list and future calls will go straight to them.

Answer machine - Your call companion is either on another call, their telephone is switched off, or they have no signal. Please try again later.

We are sorry, our service cannot operate correctly if you withhold your phone number - If you get this message, your phone number is withheld. You will need to update your settings to show your caller ID and then redial.

Engaged tone - You will hear this when your call companion is already on the telephone to someone else.

You have no active befriending matches - This message means that you haven't been set up with a call companion. This could be because you and your call companion are not yet set up on the system or because we do not have the correct telephone numbers for you both.

And finally, please don’t forget that your call companion will receive their call from 0300 373 1730. This is the number that they will need to add to their call blockers.  To make your call companion calls you dial 0300 373 0960.
