Dream teams

When organisations choose to fundraise for us, it means the world. Recently, our friends at Dalmore Capital, Novuna, and Alfa Travel have wheeled and walked miles to support our work reducing loneliness in later life.

An intrepid team from Dalmore Capital Limited took on the Infrastructure Investors ‘Falling Leaves’ cycle challenge. Riders from the infra investors industry gathered at the Mount Vineyard in Shoreham, Kent, and pedaled a staggering 79k, raising over £14,000 for Re-engage and another charity, Compaid. Dalmore Capital has been supporting us as their charity partner of the year, raising vital funds for our services. Their continued dedication, through fundraising events like this, is making an enormous difference in helping us provide support for older people facing loneliness or isolation.

Our friends from Novuna’s GenLink Colleague Community, who are on a mission to ‘connect all generations’ within Novuna, successfully organised a company-wide Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Kate Newport, who organised the walk with her colleague Aimee Raseta, said: “This event pushed all 21 participants to their limits, with nearly all of us completing the challenge. Whether or not we crossed the finish line, each of us walked away with valuable lessons and strengthened our connection across generations. One of the most rewarding aspects of this challenge was seeing different generations come together, learning from each other's perspectives, and finding strength in our shared experiences.

“We are proud to have raised funds for Re-engage. The mission aligns perfectly with our group's values of fostering connections across generations. Now, what challenge should we take on next?”

A 17-strong team from Alfa Travel set off early in the morning from the company’s HQ in Chorley, to walk an impressive 26 miles to the Queens Hotel in Blackpool. The event proved to be the perfect challenge for Alfa’s regular ramblers, who pounded the pavements through Preston towards the coast on what was thankfully a day of pleasant weather.

Sean Keely from Alfa Travel said: “There’s no doubt that this was a hard challenge - many of us are still feeling the effects of walking for 26 miles, but we are all so proud of each other! The resilience shown by team throughout the day was incredible. We are massively thankful for all of the donations and words of support we’ve received.”
