The COVID-19 pandemic impacted every person in the UK differently. Whether you use our support services, are the loved one of someone who does, a volunteer, or a supporter, sharing your story, your experiences and insights, will ensure they are considered in the Inquiry’s investigations, helping to create recommendations and a record of the pandemic to protect future generations.

Every Story Matters is an opportunity to tell the Inquiry what you think could be learned, what could have been done better or differently, for those who struggled with loneliness and isolation during the pandemic.

What is the UK Covid-19 Inquiry?

It’s the public inquiry set up to examine the UK’s response to and impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and to learn lessons for the future. The Inquiry is independent from the government and completely impartial.

Why should I share my story?

We know some experiences are painful to talk about, and it can be difficult to look back, but the Inquiry needs to hear from you. Your individual story is valuable and will help the Inquiry better understand how the pandemic affected us all – and what we can do better if it happens again.

We can’t be part of the change unless we share our experiences and tell the Inquiry what happened to each and every one of us.

How can I share my story?

By searching ‘Every Story Matters’ online or by using the link below, which will take you to a short online form where you can share your pandemic story anonymously.

Share your story

Stories will be collated and turned into themed reports, which will be submitted to each relevant investigation as evidence. The reports will all be anonymised.

Alternatively:

  • To share your story in person with a professional counsellor, you can attend one of the upcoming listening events. Dates, times, and locations can be found here.
  • To share your story via paper form, please email contact@covid19.public-inquiry.uk or write to FREEPOST, UK Covid-19 Public Inquiry.
