Throughout National Storytelling Week this week, our partner PG tips will be posting our blogs and vlogs across their social media channels,
The week kicks off with the fascinating story of one of our London tea party guests, Harold.
In the story, the 81-year-old recalls landing in the UK from Jamaica at just 22 and building a life for himself in a strange new culture.
Harold’s story was published on our blog to celebrate Black History Month last year and describes how much the UK has changed since he arrived.
Other guests featured over the week include Trudy, who tragically lost her beloved brother to Covid last year; Joan, whose desperation during the first national lockdown led her to call companions; and widower John, who tells his poignant story of chronic loneliness.
They all say our services have been a lifeline.
PG tips will also share stories from some of our brilliant volunteers, including a lovely vlog from Bev Owen, our Volunteer of the Year 2020 (coming soon), call companion Holly and tea party volunteer, Sujata.
Look out for the stories across Twitter and Facebook and feel free to share them on your own social media channels.
