Welcome to Re-engage

Good Morning Britain's 1 Million Minutes campaign is now in its ninth year, and over 672 million minutes have been pledged to charities connecting volunteers with lonely people up and down the country.

We're proud to once again be a chosen partner for this incredible campaign which runs throughout December.

The challenge of chronic loneliness

Loneliness can affect anyone, but it’s especially common among older people. Nearly half of those aged 75 and older live alone, and many can go weeks without speaking to or seeing anyone. This isolation often deepens during the colder, darker winter months which can impact physical and mental wellbeing.

Here’s how we make a difference:

  • Call Companions: regular phone calls from friendly volunteers that keep older people connected to the outside world and brighten their days.
  • Activity Groups: energising sessions that encourage movement and foster meaningful connections in a friendly, accessible and safe environment.
  • Tea Parties: monthly social gatherings that bring older guests together for lively conversations, laughter, and friendship with people of all ages.

Our services are for anyone aged 75 and over who is experiencing loneliness or isolation. They are also completely free, with no time limits – meaning older people can benefit from them for as long as they want.

How you can help

You can sign up to one of our volunteer roles today in just a few clicks – your support has never been more needed.

Together, we can make sure no one has to feel alone.

Choose how to pledge your minutes

There are three ways you can volunteer with us using the time you’ve pledged.

Help reconnect older people with their community

Do you have access to a car and a little time to spare? By becoming a Volunteer Driver, you can make a world of difference to an isolated older person.

Each month, you’ll drive an older person or two to and from one of our tea parties – joyful gatherings that provide older people with social connections. You’ll stay to enjoy the gathering too, sharing in the conversation and companionship that make these events so special.

This flexible and rewarding role is an easy way to make a big difference – perfect for anyone looking to give back in a hands-on, impactful way.
