Celebration giving

If you have a special occasion coming up, asking for donations is a meaningful alternative to receiving gifts and is a great way to spread the joy of your celebration. At the same time, you’ll be helping to make life less lonely for older people who are desperately in need of companionship.

Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, wedding or another milestone, there are a number of ways for your friends and loved ones to give the gift of friendship to a lonely older person.

Facebook fundraiser

If you have a celebration, coming up, why not set up a Facebook fundraiser in advance, and share it with your friends and family? They can make donations to Re-engage in lieu of presents or cards, and leave special messages.

Just Giving page

Create a Just Giving page where your friends and family can make donations. They’ll be able to leave personal messages for you to look back on too.

QR code

Our donate QR code can be added to invitations or displayed on place-settings if you’re having a more formal event. If you’d like an electronic version, please email fundraising@reengage.org.uk.   Design some printable flyers on Canva? Or at least have a downloadable image to link to.

Post boxes or collection boxes

If you’re planning on having a post box or physical collection box, you can donate what you raise through our online donation form or send a cheque to:

Freepost RUGE–HJRU–LGXR
Re-engage
PO Box 391
Great Yarmouth

Do include a note to let us know your contact details, and how you raised the money, as we love to learn about your celebrations and thank you properly.

DontSendMeACard.com

If you’re planning on sending a card, DontSendMeACard.com allows you to send ecards and donate the money you would normally pay for the physical card and postage to charity. If you’re expecting to receive cards, but would rather have a digital version, why not tell your friends and family about DontSendMeACard.com? There is a wide selection of cards for all occasions.

Help to relieve the pain of loneliness through celebration giving

Your donations can help recruit more volunteers to reach more older people.  Our wonderful volunteers help us reach thousands of people like Jean, who was feeling very alone before she joined Re-engage:

When I first joined the tea party group, I was a bit apprehensive. I didn’t know what to expect. But they made me feel so welcome and my worries vanished in an instant. It’s been such a lovely experience and I’ve met so many different people, from all walks of life, who I would never have met otherwise. The volunteers take so much care of us. I get driven to and from the parties and there’s always someone there to look out for us, whatever we need. Communication is so important and it’s very easy to become isolated as you get older. Re-engage is just brilliant.
