Activity groups for over-75s
Our activity groups bring together people aged 75 and over in local communities to help reduce loneliness, social isolation and improve physical wellbeing.
Our groups use community spaces to host a range of activities which can be anything from dancing to chair yoga, Tai Chi, light exercise classes, singing or boules.
Become an activity group coordinator
You’ll coordinate activity-based groups for people over 75 in community centres, pubs, or church spaces. Groups will include between four and 15 older people, along with volunteer drivers who pick up and drop off the older people.
Become an activity group lead
As an activity group lead volunteer, you’ll take turns leading the monthly session and support other volunteers when it’s their turn to lead.
Become an activity group driver
As an activity group driver, you’ll collect one or two older people each month from their homes so they can attend the activity group, and return them again afterwards.
About us
We are a charity that is positive about older age and committed to fighting loneliness so that people can have social lives and friendship however old they are. We inspire and enable meaningful connections and shared experiences within communities across the UK for people aged 75 and over who are facing loneliness and social isolation.
Our activity groups increase Re-engage's capacity to respond to loneliness and social isolation among people aged 75 and over, across Bristol and the South West, Greater Manchester, London, the Scottish Borders, Wales, West Midlands and West Yorkshire, through initiating and running activity-based groups focusing on physical health and wellbeing.
