Every year, we ask the people who use and deliver our services to tell us how Re-engage is making a difference in their lives; thank you to everyone who took the time to share your insight with us. This year's results show a consistently strong and positive impact across all our services, from tea parties and activity groups to call companions, and as importantly, highlight the vital role our volunteers play in reducing loneliness and strengthening connection.

Our 2025-2026 Annual Survey reveals that across all services, older people continue to report high levels of wellbeing and satisfaction. Respect and dignity remain central to their Re-engage experience, with 94% agreeing they are always treated with respect. Service quality is also rated highly, with 90% describing Re-engage as good or excellent. Most importantly, 84% say our support has a positive impact on their life, and 87% tell us they have something to look forward to since joining one or more of our services.

Our in-person services (can also use face to face services) services continue to deliver meaningful social connection. At tea parties, 77% of guests feel happier and 74% have made new friends. In activity groups, 76% say the sessions give them something to look forward to. Our telephone services can make a real difference too. Among Call Companions, 80% say they have something to look forward to, and 69% feel happier because of regular calls.

Our volunteers report powerful benefits of signing up to help reduce loneliness in later life. 96% feel they're making a difference and 95% feel like they're giving something back, with 78% agreeing that volunteering has had a positive impact on their own life. Many volunteers also report increased awareness of ageism and the challenges older people fact. Social connection is also flourishing with 86% of activity group volunteers having made friends through their involvement.

Thank you to everyone who completed our Annual Survey; your feedback helps us shape our services, make improvements and develop new initiatives to help us continue to reduce loneliness in later life for people across the UK.
